Montreal, October 3, 2019 — Philippe-Aubert Messier, Bopper's Founder and Vice President of Product & Partnerships, is pleased to announce the appointment of Gabriel Bouchard as CEO of the company. Mr. Bouchard, who has acted as the company’s Strategic Planning Advisor for Sales and Marketing since November 2018 as part of the DeepDive Accelerator Program for Creative and Cultural Entrepreneurs La Piscine, officially took office on July 2, 2019.

Originally from Montreal, Gabriel Bouchard has more than 30 years of experience in communication and marketing in the digital and software industry, including 2 years as President of Workopolis, the Canadian leader in online recruitment. Gabriel Bouchard was also the founder of the first Monster.com site launched outside the United States in 1997, and directed it for 11 years. His extensive knowledge of B2B and B2C digital business marketing, along with his many accomplishments in revenue growth, strategic brand positioning, and business process optimization, made him stand out in the digital industry.

"I am very excited to have Gabriel's expertise to help accelerate the growth of Bopper. His track record in advertising and as CEO of leading brands in the web business make him the perfect match at this stage of the development of Bopper." said Philippe-Aubert Messier.

"With the acceleration of the pace in the advertising world and the growing importance for brands to be able to ally with trending artists to develop an emotional link with its customers, it appears to me that the proposal of a platform for quality musical discoveries and instant purchase of pre-cleared licences is obvious and of great relevance. In addition, Bopper's commitment to providing artists with fair compensation for the use of their music in an advertising context is an important value that I share," said Gabriel Bouchard.

A Pioneer of the Web Industry

After studying business administration, Gabriel Bouchard began his career at the advertising agency BCP Stratégie-Créativité as General Manager of one of its subsidiaries. In 1997, he founded the Canadian Monster.com site, a division of TMP Worldwide, for which he created the operating model, which was then implemented in 30 countries. In 2008, he was appointed Vice President - Strategic Planning and, in 2009, President and Chief Brand Officer of Workopolis, a position he held until 2011.

In 2012, following the promulgation of the anti-spam law, he founded iPoint Canada, a company designed to help national advertisers generate online brand interactions. In 2016, Gabriel Bouchard started ScaleUp Consulting Services to help technology companies accelerate their organic growth, of which Bopper was a customer.

Mr. Bouchard holds a B.B.A. (Bachelor of Business Administration) from Université du Québec à Montréal.
